In Indiana’s 1st District, we’re starting to see some vote trickle into the GOP primary. Air Force veteran Jennifer-Ruth Green looks to be in a strong position early on. She’s vying against former La Porte mayor Blair Milo for the right to take on freshman Democrat Frank Mrvan in this northwest Indiana seat. Green would be just the second Black woman to serve in Congress as a Republican. But while the 1st District has moved toward Republicans in recent years, it’s still Democratic-leaning and Mrvan begins with the advantage no matter who emerges as the GOP nominee.
