Amazing to think the 9th District was once a swingy House seat: Baron Hill, a Blue Dog Democrat, lost to Sodrel in 2004 after holding this seat for three terms. Hill then beat Sodrel in their 2006 rematch and held it until losing to Young in the 2010 Republican wave. Southern Indiana has since become much, much redder, making it impossible to imagine a Democrat winning in this area.
