This is not Sodrel’s first run for this seat … or his second … or his third. He only held the seat from 2005-2007 but ran for it five times between 2002 and 2010, ultimately giving up after losing the Republican primary to Young in 2010. He even moved just outside the district after the 2010 run and to establish residency, he’s currently living in a metal-sided garage that has a “bachelor pad” inside, according to him. He’s the wealthy owner of a trucking line who’s spent a significant amount on the race so far.
