In the Democratic race in Illinois’s 7th District the gap between Incumbent Danny Davis and progressive activist Kina Collins has tightened. With 61 percent of the expected vote reporting, Davis leads with 51 percent to Collins’s 47 percent. Collins is a progressive candidate I am watching tonight, however its not as if Davis isn’t liberal. That’s why Collins’s pitch has been about her youth, and experience as a Black women. Davis, who is also Black, is 80 years old, while Collins is 31.
