Meanwhile, over in the Republican primary for Illinois’s 6th, we have 43 percent of the expected vote reporting, and Pekau has pulled ahead of Grasso. Pekau has 46 percent of the vote, compared to Grasso’s 24 percent. Again, both are former mayors and neither is particularly Trumpy — the candidate with the support of former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Kaspar, has only 6 percent of the vote. The seat is Democratic-leaning (D+6 according to our metric), so it’ll be an uphill climb for whichever candidate wins, but not impossible.
