Sarah, I think you know the answer best! Didn’t you coin 2022 the “petty primary”? It’s unheard of for a former president or even sitting president to be putting up and endorsing challengers to incumbents. Add that to a continued sense among progressives that they aren’t getting what they want from the Democratic party and … voila!
