ABC News reports that incumbent Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt is projected to win the GOP gubernatorial nomination, which really comes as no surprise. A newcomer when he first sought office in 2018, Stitt has since made national headlines as a staunch conservative supporting permissive gun laws, anti-transgender laws, abortion bans and capital punishment. We can expect him to be a continued proponent of such legislation pending reelection in November, when he’ll face one of two women seeking the Democratic nomination: Connie Johnson, a former state senator, or Joy Hofmeister, a former Republican.
