Meanwhile, in the Republican primary for Illinois’s 6th District, 8 percent of the expected vote is reporting. Pekau has 33 percent of the vote, Grasso has 28 percent of the vote, Conforti has 14 percent, O’Shea has 11 percent, and the other two candidates are in single digits. It’s not surprising to see that Pekau and Grasso are vying for the lead — they’re both former mayors who have been the leading candidates in the race. Grasso has more of a fundraising advantage, but Pekau is arguably the Trumpier candidate, with the support of former Trump attorney and New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
