With 18 percent of the expected vote in from Illinois’s 3rd District, state Rep. Delia Ramirez has a healthy lead over Chicago Alderman Gilbert Villegas — 63 percent to 27 percent. That said, whoever wins tonight will be favored to win in November thanks to the way the district’s boundaries were redrawn. Under the newest congressional lines, the 3rd District has a partisan lean of D+39. But it’s still possible this race will go to a runoff. Two other Democrats are running in tonight’s primary: Juan Aguirre and Iyman Chehade. Whoever wins will face Republican Justin Burau, who is running unopposed.
