Tonight I’ll be watching the Democratic race in Illinois’s 7th District, Chicago’s West Side, between incumbent Danny Davis and progressive challenger Kina Collins. I’ll also be watching two Republican primaries, in Colorado’s 7th district and Illinois 11th. The Colorado district includes some of Denver’s western suburbs and three Republicans trying to take advantage of Rep. Ed Perlmutter’s retirement. It’s a competitive race in a district that leans Democratic but is slightly redder than in previous elections because of redistricting. (The Democratic primary is unopposed.) In Illinois’s 11th district, just outside of Chicago, six Republicans are running to try to unseat Democratic incumbent Bill Foster.
