Twelve incumbent members of Congress have already lost primaries this cycle, and a 13th definitely will later tonight in New York. That’s the most since 2012, but I wonder if the real story is how many close calls we got. That number could easily have been a lot higher — just look at how close Loomer is to Webster tonight, or how close Michael Guest came to losing in Mississippi, or David Valadao in California … I could go on.
