Sarah, I think that’s definitely fair to say about Florida. The state converted three highly competitive seats (going by FiveThirtyEight partisan lean) into four Republican-leaning seats (Florida gained a seat due to the census). And I think it would have been true about New York had Democrats’ gerrymander held, as that would have converted three Republican-leaning seats into three Democratic-leaning seats and shed one highly competitive seat (New York lost a seat). But when the gerrymander was struck down, New York ended up with a map that, partisanship-wise, is similar to its old one.
