In Florida’s 27th District, which is probably Democrats’ only legitimate House takeover opportunity in Florida, state Sen. Annette Taddeo is leading Miami City Commissioner Ken Russell, 69 percent to 25 percent, with about 58 percent of the vote counted. Neither initially planned on challenging GOP Rep. María Elvira Salazar. Taddeo was initially running for governor, and Russell was initially running for Senate. But both dropped down to challenge Salazar. Taddeo had support of national Democrats, which put her on the coveted Red-to-Blue list earlier this year.
