Warren’s campaign put out a very aggressive memo this afternoon, basically suggesting that after Super Tuesday, only Biden, Sanders and Warren will be viable candidates. So her staff knew she wasn’t doing well in New Hampshire and was rebutting that. But I’m unsure if they expected to get around 10 percent of the vote and finish 10 points behind Klobuchar. In a post earlier tonight, I wondered if Warren would leave the race if she finished behind Klobuchar. Her staff’s memo argues that Klobuchar and Bloomberg in particular don’t have the on-the-ground staffing to compete on Super Tuesday. Maybe that is bluster, maybe that is somewhat true. I don’t know. Maybe New Hampshire is a quirky state. But for me, Warren’s performance stands out not quite as much as Biden in Iowa, but in that range.
