Also, to your point Geoff and Laura, about more moderate, unaffiliated voters in New Hampshire casting a ballot in the Democratic primary this year because the GOP on is uncompetitive — this is from our colleague Gary Langer at ABC News on the preliminary exit polls: “Turnout among conservatives in the GOP primary is at a record high in preliminary exit poll results – 81 percent are conservatives, up for a previous record of 71 percent in 2016. That contrasts, as noted, with 61 percent liberals in the Democratic contests.”
In other words, all that’s left in the GOP primary are the diehards.
