Meet New Hampshire’s Second Congressional District

New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District covers western New Hampshire, from the Massachusetts state line to the Canadian border. Although it contains the cities of Nashua and Concord, it is overall more rural than the 1st District. Rural areas could be a battleground tonight, as Buttigieg did well in rural areas in Iowa last week but Sanders did well in New Hampshire’s rural areas — many of which border Vermont, Sanders’s home state — in 2016. That year, the 2nd District voted for Sanders over Clinton by around 25 points.

Sanders has opened two more field offices than Buttigieg in the district, which is worth 8 national delegates. As in the 1st Congressional District, our forecast thinks Sanders will win 3.6 delegates and Buttigieg will win 2.9, on average.
