Meet New Hampshire’s First Congressional District
Like Iowa (and most states), New Hampshire allocates a significant number of its national delegates based on the vote at the congressional district level. Although the Granite State’s two districts are politically and demographically similar, you should get to know them all the same:
New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District covers eastern New Hampshire, from the Seacoast to the White Mountains, and includes Manchester, the state’s most populous city. It is, by a hair, New Hampshire’s more highly educated and wealthier district. Accordingly, while the district still voted for Sanders by 20 points in 2016, Clinton did slightly better here than in the state as a whole. Currently, our model is forecasting that Sanders will receive, on average, 3.6 of the 8 delegates up for grabs here, while Buttigieg will receive 2.9.
