While we wait for some results from Nevada, how about a little story time? As I mentioned earlier, there are multiple candidates for the GOP primary for governor in Nevada who support Trump’s false stolen election claims. But there was almost one more!
Michele Fiore is a Las Vegas city councilor and former state assembly member who is a big Trump supporter. Last year, she threw her hat into the already-crowded ring for GOP gubernatorial candidate, and flirted with the Big Lie, saying she would launch an audit of the state’s 2020 results if elected. She also released an iconic campaign ad where she shot a bottle of beer labelled “voter fraud” in the Nevada desert:
However, Fiore later dropped out of the gubernatorial primary to instead run for state treasurer and there’s a good chance she’ll secure the Republican nomination for that post. In a poll last month, 42 percent of likely Republican primary voters picked Fiore for treasurer, ahead of her opponent Manny Kess, who got just 12 percent of votes.
