ABC News reports that state Rep. Russell Fry is projected to win the GOP primary in South Carolina’s 7th District, defeating Republican Rep. Tom Rice. Fry has 51 percent, well ahead of Rice’s 25 percent, and is just over the 50 percent threshold to avoid a runoff. Rice’s loss marks the first primary defeat for a House Republican who voted to impeach Trump in January 2021 — six of the 10 are running again — and he very well may not be the last.
