In South Carolina’s 4th District Republican primary, Rep. William Timmons actually has the same percentage as Mace does in the 1st District — 53 percent. But his race had a much lower profile, and admittedly he doesn’t have one opponent who is really challenging him closely (the second-place candidate has under a quarter of the vote). Still, because of South Carolina’s majority requirement in primaries and only about half the vote in so far, I don’t think we can rule out a runoff here.
