So far, two of the House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump have run in their respective primaries. And so far tonight, Rice has about 25 percent of the vote, while California Rep. David Valadao has about 47 percent of the GOP vote in the top-two primary in California’s 22nd District. The latter is the only race involving an impeachment vote that Trump didn’t involve himself in, so consider Valadao a high mark of sorts — and he still doesn’t have a majority (with many votes still to count, to be fair). This is a bad sign for Republicans like Reps. Liz Cheney, Dan Newhouse, Jaime Herrera Beutler and Peter Meijer, who face primaries in August — especially Cheney given the focus on that race.
