As we wait for results in Nevada, here’s a recap of what I’m watching in the state’s 1st District: Democratic Rep. Dina Titus is definitely the favorite heading into tonight, but she faces a challenge from progressive Amy Vilela, who has been endorsed by Sen. Bernie Sanders. As Nathaniel and I wrote earlier this week, the race could be competitive given that Nevada’s newest congressional district lines make it so only about 50 percent of people in the new 1st District are Titus’s current constituents. What’s working in Titus’s favor, though, is that she has a huge fundraising advantage and she’s arguably the best bet for Democrats if they want to hold the seat in the current, Republican-leaning political environment.
