While we wait for results from today’s primaries, we’re still getting results from last week’s primaries. Los Angeles County just counted a bunch of new votes in the race for LA mayor, and Karen Bass has pulled ahead of Rick Caruso 41 percent to 38 percent. Both are already assured of advancing to November’s runoff, but Bass’s gains since last week demonstrate the dangers of writing an election’s narratives before all the votes are in.
