What Went Down In The 2020 Nevada Caucuses

So here’s another ~hypothetical~ about The Future Of The Race. If Warren doesn’t actually come in second here in Nevada, does she drop out? One thing we were discussing earlier this week was how the debate felt like a game-changer for her, but if many Nevadans didn’t factor the debate into their decision and Warren doesn’t end up with a lot of overall support (we don’t know yet), I’m not sure what happens next for her. South Carolina seems harder for her, not easier, right?

As in Iowa and New Hampshire, Sanders is doing very well among voters under 30, according to preliminary entrance polling. And Biden, Klobuchar and Steyer are stronger with older voters than younger ones. The picture is more mixed for Warren and Buttigieg, for whom the relationship between age and support seems less linear.

Watching the caucus results (slowly) come in is a lot like playing in a poker tournament: Occasional pangs of excitement but also a whole lot of waiting around.
