Howard is on pace to lose by something in the neighborhood of 65 points, but they can hold their heads high knowing they won’t challenge for the worst first-round women’s blowout in recent memory. In 2017, Baylor beat Texas Southern by 89 points (!), 119-30.

Every time the camera shows the women’s benches, I’m surprised to see the March Madness branding on the chair covers. It’s small, incredibly small, when compared to some of the larger inequalities the women’s tournament has faced over the years — that came starkly into view last year — but it’s still big. I really loved Emma Baccellieri’s piece in Sports Illustrated this morning on the push for equality between the tournaments. Did you know that both players’ lounges will be outfitted with exactly 28 pillows?
