What Went Down In The First Round Of The NCAA Tournament
Boeheim and Krzyzewski get all the attention, but Yale’s James Jones is only somewhat behind them on the list of longest-tenured active men’s head coaches. Jones has been coaching the Bulldogs since the 1999-2000 season, which is tied with Gonzaga’s Mark Few for the sixth-longest active tenure (and as you may have heard, that Coach K guy will be leaving the list soon).
I think so, Jared, but I also think there’s a lot of further development required. It’ll be an adjustment playing more within the flow of an offense. Like Jake mentioned, he’s asked to do so much on a team with missing pieces and a plodding big. Sometimes it manifests like a J.K. Simmons “not quite my tempo” kind of situation. He turns the ball over quite a bit, but it seems like most don’t come in the half court. He’s clearly comfortable handling the ball, and has taken on more floor general duties this season. I just think there’s a long way to go still.
Josh, can Ivey be a primary ball-handler, based on what you’ve seen from him?
