One other thing about the sportsbook is that there are always a lot of random hoots and hollers. You can be pretty sure that at least somebody in the room has some … investment … in every game, so if you hear someone clap or yell, it may just mean that the Seattle Kraken scored a late goal against the Canucks and not that something big happened in the game you’re focused on.

I selectively went against our model, haha. It’s funny because we’re in a group with a bunch of people who you assume will use the model, and the first rule of bracket pools is to go against the teams you know everyone else is taking. But then, if we all know that, maybe the true contrarian will go WITH the model … 🤔
