I agree, Jared. That, combined with the longer shot clock, means college teams run a lot more plays to completion without anything happening.

Jake, it also seems like coaches are more exacting about having control of every offensive possession. There seem to be more slowed-down possessions and called plays, compared with some of the more free-flowing NBA teams. (One is not necessarily better than the other, but it’s a noticeable difference.) Is that fair to say?

You’re right, Jared, that officiating is a big factor, too. I’d add that in addition to the overall quality lacking at the college level, there’s a ton of annoying variability between the leagues, in my opinion.
