What Went Down In The First Round Of The NCAA Tournament

It’s interesting — I’m in the opposite camp, Micah. I adore college basketball, and the NBA just doesn’t hold my interest as much until the playoffs.

I’m much more of an NBA fan than a college basketball fan (outside of March Madness), and it sounds like that’s true for others here too — but does anyone want to explain to me why I should follow college basketball more? Are there ways in which it’s better than the pros?

Truly anything goes in a Providence game. As far as I can tell, they do the opposite of what’s expected whenever possible. Picked to finish seventh in the Big East in the preseason conference poll? Win the conference (kind of). Favored over Creighton in the Big East semifinal? Get blown out by 27.
