Micah, it definitely could be fertile ground. I just don’t think the points are being made very sharply. For people who don’t necessarily know who Lanny Davis is, repeating his name over and over again isn’t super helpful.

I was thinking about that earlier, Micah, when Rep. Carolyn Maloney said that “this is a story of redemption” after questioning Cohen. I know that congressional hearings are largely political theater, but it seems as if that could be bad framing for Democrats, especially as much of Cohen’s testimony will be seen through largely partisan lenses.

IDK, Amelia — this actually strikes me as more fertile ground for Republicans. “This is all a partisan witch hunt” is at least of a piece with other GOP talking points. And it’s certainly true that Democrats are out to get Trump, right?
