What Went Down In The Michael Cohen Hearing
Many of the less prominent Republican members of the committee are yielding their time to the committee’s two bulldogs: Jim Jordan and Mark Meadows.
One thing that strikes me so far is that the Democrats are showing some discipline in focusing on potential campaign finance violations — the legal stuff, in other words. There hasn’t been a ton of emphasis so far on the grabby but petty material that Cohen also brought today.
I think the Stormy Daniels story is sort of a nothingburger, in terms of public perceptions of Trump. That sort of conduct is very much priced into people’s assumptions about him. I guess maybe if it had hit right after the “Access Hollywood” tape, it could have extended that news cycle. But the news media would have forgotten about it the moment the Comey letter hit anyway because they were obsessed with Clinton’s email server.
