What Went Down In The Michael Cohen Hearing
Well, I was mostly agreeing with Perry about the fact that we’re not going to suddenly get some damaging email proving coordination between Trump and Russia. No idea what the representatives think is going to emerge — but I think the precedent of the Nixon tapes makes a damning paper trail seem more possible than it is.
Amelia and Perry — you both seem to think congressional representatives think that more paper will be produced? That’s not entirely my impression, but I’m interested you both think so! I’ve been thinking of this committee hearing as not quite symbolic, but also not not symbolic. I think of the hearing as a way to demonstrate the Democrats’ new majority power, or the ability to bring the kind of splashy Trump testimony that they would have liked to see for his first two years of office?
“Shame on you, Mr. Jordan.” Cohen is very angry.
