Green was nominated to be President Trump’s army secretary in 2017, but he withdrew after anti-transgender and anti-Muslim comments he made were publicized. But he then won election to Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District in 2018, running unopposed in the Republican primary.

“There was nothing that happened in the Trump Organization … that did not go through Mr. Trump,” Cohen said.

“He’s a fake witness,” Republican Mark Green of Tennessee said.
