Iowa does exist to generate media coverage. The longer this wait lasts, the more negative that coverage will be … and if it can’t be directed at a candidate, it’ll be directed at the Iowa caucuses themselves. Even if most of the public isn’t tuning in, the reporters that will interpret these results for them are getting cranky.
