What Did — And Didn’t — Go Down In The Iowa Caucuses
We don’t have full results yet — and no timeline as to when to expect them — but one thing that is particularly striking about Buttigieg’s lead is his overall footprint (this is taken from our friends over at The New York Times, with the results sized by the candidates’ lead in a county.) Buttigieg did very well in more suburban areas like Dallas County, but also in more rural parts of the state, too.
Perry, on that: it’s worth noting that Buttigieg is essentially tied with Biden among nonwhite caucusgoers in Iowa, according to the entrance poll — though we should stress that that’s only 9 percent overall! Sanders, on the other hand, has a big lead.
