What Did — And Didn’t — Go Down In The Iowa Caucuses

Building on Laura’s post about Sanders’s voters and issues. In 2016 surveys, I’ve found that Sanders voters were way more likely than Clinton’s to cite issues when asked why they backed him.

Per the preliminary entrance polls, there’s some potentially good news for candidates who do well with young voters (hint, hint, Sanders): 44 percent of Democrats are under 45 years old, which is higher for Democrats than the 37 percent in the 2016 entrance poll and 40 percent in 2008.
