What Went Down During Gordon Sondland’s Testimony
Sondland basically says that the entire government wanted the aid to Ukraine released. So the details of this testimony aside, it goes to what the New Yorker’s Susan Glasser has written: we basically have a “government of one,” particularly on foreign policy.
I think this part is important too — how did Sondland come to the conclusion that the military aid was conditioned on the announcement of the investigations?
I guess this is the sign of a good lawyer. I feel like the Democratic counsel has been asking questions for three hours and has asked 197 questions. I’m sure it has not been three hours, but the counsel has asked a lot of short, careful questions.
