What Went Down During Gordon Sondland’s Testimony

We are spending a lot of time debating “Trump wanted an announcement of investigations” (Sondland’s account) vs. “Trump wanted an investigation of the Bidens” (the Democrats). But these are the same thing, basically.

Time for another dumb question for the rest of you from me. What else are you going to be watching for from Sondland for the rest of the hearing? Have most of the important facts — what Sondland’s going to say and roughly how he’s going to say it — been established and it’s just a matter of filling in details around the margins?

Sondland says the key thing was that the investigations had to be announced. Obviously that kind of locks the Ukrainians into doing the investigations — but maybe a breadcrumb for Republicans to argue that Trump wasn’t pushing to make sure they actually happened?
