Sondland fighting the phrase “logjam for aid” (Schiff’s phrasing) and insisting he only said/wrote “logjam” (without the term aid) is the kind of thing I mean when I say Sondland is trying to make his testimony less bad for Trump than it could be.

Giuliani is definitely the loser in all this. Sondland won’t comment on whether Trump found investigations to be things of value, but he’s repeated twice that was his understanding, via Giuliani. He’s emphatic that it came through Giuliani.
