One thing I’m thinking about, as we watch all of these high-level people getting drawn in more directly — the White House can throw them under the bus, but there are limits to how much that can help. Nixon’s former attorney general and chief of staff, among others, went down first in the Watergate scandal. But we all know how that ultimately ended for Nixon.
