One thing I’m thinking about, as we watch all of these high-level people getting drawn in more directly — the White House can throw them under the bus, but there are limits to how much that can help. Nixon’s former attorney general and chief of staff, among others, went down first in the Watergate scandal. But we all know how that ultimately ended for Nixon.

Chad, I’m someone who believes there’s a small chance that Senate Republicans turn on Trump to some extent, but we have no evidence of that kind of heat yet!

I am returning to the possibility that this ends in a blood sacrifice from Trump: If he feels the heat from GOP senators, can he quell that by jettisoning Giuliani, Pompeo and Sondland?
