What Went Down During Gordon Sondland’s Testimony

What he just recounted, pulling aside a Ukrainian advisor and telling them that the aid was conditioned on investigations, is what Sondland infamously refreshed his memory about a couple of weeks ago. It’s a key detail.

His inserting Pompeo so deeply into the Ukraine scheme is interesting. Sondland is, to me, not making Trump seem a lot worse through his testimony. But he is making Pompeo seem worse.

I said earlier that about two thirds of Republicans who don’t think Trump made the aid conditional on the investigation think it would be inappropriate if he did. It’s worth noting that the proportion who think if would be impeachable if it happened is much smaller.
