What Went Down During Gordon Sondland’s Testimony

In a hypothetical world where this pressure campaign toward Ukraine was all Giuliani’s idea and Trump was basically going along with what he thought was a good idea, is that testimony the White House would like the public to hear or not?

Pompeo coming up again. Volker messaged Sondland, “Spoke with Rudy per guidance from S [Pompeo]”. Interesting, stepping back, that the Trump State Department was so willing to let Giuliani run wild on this. It can get lost in all these details, but it’s strange to have such capricious U.S. foreign policy.

Jinx, Galen! Bolton has expressed willingness to testify — but only if he has a court order telling him he has to comply with Democrats’ subpoenas. Democrats aren’t willing to play that game with him (a game of “rope-a-dope,” in Schiff’s colorful parlance) so I’d also say it’s currently unlikely that we’ll hear from Bolton. But of all these high-profile witnesses, he’s the one who seems likeliest to change his mind and testify voluntarily.
