What Went Down During Gordon Sondland’s Testimony

Sondland is ambassador to the European Union, which means that Ukraine is not actually part of his portfolio. He’s trying to justify why he was involved so deeply in Ukraine diplomacy in the first place by saying that Europe’s security depends on Ukraine.

So it seems like Sondland can give first-hand testimony of Trump asking for Ukraine to investigate Bidens/2016, but he can’t give first-hand testimony on Trump linking those investigations to the military aid?

As you can see from the headline on MSNBC, today will likely be framed as sealing the deal after we heard from witnesses with circumstantial evidence last week and direct knowledge of the July 25th call yesterday. There is still testimony tomorrow and possibly more in a couple weeks, but those pushing for impeachment will be aiming to tie a bow on things after today.
