Day Three Of The Republican Convention Got A Little Wild

I think Rubio was always a little more confused about things than Cruz. Cruz is a true believer, in states’ rights and in himself. He seemed to know a bit more about how to handle his image vis-a-vis the Trump fight than Rubio did. I think Cruz also knows that there are a whole lot of friendly folks in this crowd for him — he was the vessel for the “Stop Trump” movement, so he’s got that going for him.

Let’s not forget this testy exchange between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz over Cruz’s birth in Canada. Cruz is here for … Cruz. Not particularly for Trump.

I think Rubio’s confused about what to do because he’s running for re-election in Florida, and it’s not at all clear whether distancing himself from Trump or embracing Trump is the better answer. That was a pretty half-assed solution, though, for a candidate who was often criticized for his half-measures.
