Republican Convention: Live Coverage Of The Final Night

I’ve seen doom-and-gloom political speeches before, though never to this level. But they always tend to turn around to a hopeful note. But I’ve seen the advance transcript, and it’s probably not gonna happen, folks.

I’m still puzzling over the “inner-city” line, as cities, especially disadvantaged areas within them, tend to be overwhelmingly Democratic. And he just repudiated the foreign policy of the Bush administration with the regime change line. It’s sort of a mix of different bits for different audiences, perhaps? Which doesn’t exactly make for a coherent whole. Remains to be seen whether that matters.
