I’m still puzzling over the “inner-city” line, as cities, especially disadvantaged areas within them, tend to be overwhelmingly Democratic. And he just repudiated the foreign policy of the Bush administration with the regime change line. It’s sort of a mix of different bits for different audiences, perhaps? Which doesn’t exactly make for a coherent whole. Remains to be seen whether that matters.

This speech seems, to me, designed to be a feel-good speech for people who already believe in Trump’s message, and perhaps a few crossovers at the margins who like his trade protectionism but not how he approaches race.
