Julia, Perry and I touched on Trump’s refusal to concede in light of the Senate vote to confirm the Electoral College vote later today earlier this week, talking a lot about how this administration norm-breaking behavior has thrown out the rule book, which makes it so difficult to not only cover it, but also to have legitimate opposition. On that note, I want to share something Julia said in that chat, as I think it hits on a lot of what we’re hearing now from Trump:
The impact of this norm-breaking administration isn’t just that it violates these unwritten rules, but that it behaves in ways that make the whole system of usual practices not work. That makes things extra challenging for Democrats.
