What Happened This Week In Washington — And Georgia
Cruz essentially said that by suggesting Congress set up a 10-day commission to investigate purported fraud, he is respecting the voters who believe there was election fraud. Obviously, that is what the courts are for.
Also a bit ironic for him to be citing polling given that polling (which pointed toward Trump losing, albeit by more than he did) is yet another indication that there wasn’t massive voter fraud.
Cruz is now speaking in the Senate, claiming democracy is in crisis because a recent poll found that 39 percent of Americans thought the election was rigged. Of course, that probably has a lot to do with the fact that Trump pushed unfounded claims about election fraud, leading a huge number of Republicans to believe that was the case.
