I don’t know, Galen. I think Georgia makes Trump look like a huge loser, which wasn’t necessarily true before. The question for certain Republicans may be whether they can come up with an alternative to Trump that they feel good about — that may be a lot harder.

This may be true, Nate, but will his colleagues actually listen to him? 2024 hopefuls saw what happened to former House Speaker Paul Ryan (the one person all Republicans could get behind in 2015) when he placed himself on the wrong side the Trumpist divide in the party. I don’t know if they will be deterred by McConnell telling them off either.
